About New Vinyl Weekly

Every Friday's new vinyl worth buying, the exclusive variants, and every Record Store Day drop.

New Vinyl Weekly is a Black Dog Media site and the sister site of New Comics Weekly. Each week we pick the notable vinyl releases coming out in the US on Friday, the usual street date. That means new albums, reissues, box sets and store-exclusive colour variants.

Where the information comes from

Every release is picked by hand from public announcements by labels, artists, distributors and record stores. We link to the announcement on each release page rather than copying it. Release details such as tracklists can be filled in from MusicBrainz (CC0 data). The write-ups are our own. Dates move all the time, so check the linked source before release day.

Cover art

Album covers come from the Cover Art Archive (via MusicBrainz) or from the official image a label or artist published on the announcement page we link to. For reissues, the Cover Art Archive image is usually the original album sleeve, and a new pressing may use different art; the release page says so. We don't use images from Discogs or Amazon. If there is no image we're allowed to use, the release gets a plain placeholder with the artist and title. Artwork © its owners; to have an image removed, email us.

Record Store Day

We're fans, not part of Record Store Day. Our Record Store Day pages link to the official lists on recordstoreday.com.

How the site makes money

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon links on this site are affiliate links. When you buy through an Amazon link we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. We never show prices; the retailer's page has the current price. Links to labels and other stores aren't affiliate links unless we say so.
